OpenBreath collects nothing. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting of its own, and it makes no network request of its own.
Your presets, settings, goals, reminders and the log of your sittings are stored on the device only. Nothing is sent anywhere. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
If you export a backup, the file is written where you choose it. Where it goes after that is up to you; the app never uploads it.
Your phone's own backup is left enabled on both platforms, so your device may include the app's data in your backup — your Google account on Android, your iCloud or computer backup on iPhone. That happens under Google's or Apple's terms rather than ours, and you can turn it off in the system settings. It is left on deliberately, so that a year of practice survives a new phone.
Vibration, notifications and exact alarms are used for the phase markers and your reminders. The flashlight is used, if you turn it on, as a breathing cue; it needs no camera permission and the camera is never opened. Silencing notifications for the length of a sitting is Android only — it needs notification policy access, if you grant it, and puts them back afterwards. iPhone has no equivalent, so the setting is not offered there.
Any mp3 you pick as a marker sound is read from your device and never leaves it. On iPhone a copy is kept in the app's own storage, so the sound still works if you later move or delete the original; that copy goes when the app does.
None of these permissions send data anywhere.
OpenBreath is distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store. Those stores record the download themselves, and — if you have opted in with them — may pass the developer crash reports and aggregate usage statistics. That happens under Google's and Apple's own privacy policies rather than this one, and the app takes no part in it: it is not told who downloaded it, and it does not report anything back.
OpenBreath is declared to Apple as collecting no data, and ships a privacy manifest saying the same: no tracking, no tracking domains, and no data linked to you.
The feedback form, the PayPal page for supporting the app, and the store listing open in your browser. Those sites are not ours and have their own privacy policies. The app is never told whether you visited them or what you did there — including whether you sent anything through PayPal, which goes to the developer directly and is never handled inside the app.
OpenBreath is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
